Work is moving well at the leisure centre, where GA Interiors is delivering the drylining and ceilings package for the new extension and the internal fit out. We’re working alongside ETEC Group, a main contractor we’ve trusted for many years.
Leisure buildings are demanding spaces. Sports halls, changing rooms and wet areas each bring their own challenges with moisture, acoustics, fire safety and services coordination. Here’s a look at what our team is delivering on site.
We’re installing internal partitions to form the new layout of the extension. Alongside them, independent wall linings give a clean, flat finish and room for services without relying on the existing structure.
Suspended grid ceilings are going in throughout the building. Because leisure centres have high humidity in places, we’re specifying moisture-resistant ceilings in the areas that need them, so the finish stays durable for years to come.
Structural columns are being encased with the Siniat RCE-003 system. We’re also carrying out fire-rated acoustic sealing, which helps protect the building’s fire strategy while keeping sound under control between spaces.
In the wet areas, we’ve installed ply pattressing behind the boards to give secure fixing points for fittings and fixtures. We’ve also upgraded these areas to moisture-resistant (MR) board, which is essential in changing rooms and shower areas.
One of the larger pieces of work is a bulkhead running the full width of the Sports Hall. It houses the new 550mm ductwork and keeps the ventilation hidden, so the hall looks tidy and the mechanical services stay protected.
