GA Interiors Appointed for SFS, Drylining and Ceilings at Primary Academy

GA Interiors has been appointed by Barnes Construction to deliver the SFS, drylining and ceilings package at Thurston CofE Primary Academy in Suffolk. The project for Suffolk County Council includes a new two-storey teaching block and a pre-school extension. Works run from November 2026 to April 2027.

Scope of Works

Our package covers the building envelope framing through to the internal finishes:

• Metsec SFS infill: 250mm voestalpine Metsec SFS at 600mm centres, with A2 vapour control layer, fibre cement sheathing and Tyvek breather membrane, including parapet framing
• British Gypsum GypWall partitions: fire performance up to 90 minutes and acoustic performance up to 56 dB Rw
• Passive fire protection: Glasroc F Firecase head details and trapezoidal deck fire-stopping tested to EN 1366-4
• Wall linings and ceilings: twin-layer wall linings, Thistle skim finish and suspended ceilings
