Project overview
The Sacred Heart development on Goresbrook Road, Dagenham, provides 100% sub-market housing, with every unit let at an affordable rent of up to 80% of market value.
The former convent building was converted into 2 studios, 4 one-bedroom, 2 two-bedroom and 1 three-bedroom flats. New build elements to the east and south of the convent add 4 one-bedroom, 7 two-bedroom, 8 three-bedroom and 1 four-bedroom houses.
GA Interiors held the subcontract for the supply and installation of the drylining works for main contractor J. Murphy & Sons, with works on site from autumn 2020 through 2021.
Our scope
GA Interiors delivered the following across the converted building and the new houses:
- Metal stud partition systems
- Wall linings, using mainly British Gypsum systems
- Plasterboard suspended ceilings
- Tape and joint finish to walls and ceilings
- Floor screeding
Outcome
The subcontract was completed and the final account agreed with J. Murphy & Sons in March 2022.
Highview Garages, London

Alpha Street, Slough
A new block of 14 social rent flats on Alpha Street North, Slough, built on a council small site, where GA Interiors delivered the drylining, plastering and ceilings package for LIFE Build.

Project overview
The Alpha Street site is part of the council’s wider small sites initiative, which brings sites such as old garages and run-down properties back into use for new homes. The scheme provides much-needed social housing for the local community.
GA Interiors worked for main contractor LIFE Build Solutions, starting on site in summer 2020. The building contains 14 flats together with a staircase, cycle store, bin store and water booster tank room.
Our scope
GA Interiors delivered the internal walls, linings, ceilings and finishes to every flat and to the communal areas, mainly using British Gypsum systems:
- External wall linings, party walls and internal metal stud partitions
- Dot and dab linings to communal areas and stairs
- MF and suspended ceilings, including ceiling pattresses and a bulkhead to the half landing
- Tape and joint, plastering and a parge coat, including plastered stair soffits
- Insulation, fire stopping and fire-rated steel encasement at the ground floor communal entrance
- Ply pattresses for shelving and fittings, access panels and linings to the roof AOV
Outcome
All 14 flats and the communal areas were completed and the final account was agreed with LIFE Build in December 2020.
Lucent Point, Lewisham
A 56-apartment residential scheme at Lucent Point on Thurston Road, Lewisham, where GA Interiors delivered SFS, rainscreen insulation, fire barriers and cladding for PDR Construction.

Ceiling rafts are panels suspended below the soffit. They add sound absorption to a room and give a floating ceiling look, so they serve both the acoustic and visual design of the space.
Paddington Gardens, London
A development of 365 high-specification homes with a two-storey basement car park, where GA Interiors delivered the fire stopping package for main contractor Midgard.

Paddington Gardens is a residential scheme of 365 high-specification homes over a two-storey basement car park, forming part of the Paddington Waterside regeneration in London.
GA Interiors Ltd worked alongside main contractor Midgard, delivering fire stopping across the site.
Our scope
GA Interiors provided the passive fire protection package:
- Passive fire stopping across the site
- Installation to meet the fire safety regulations for the scheme
- Close coordination with main contractor Midgard and following trades
Outcome
The fire stopping package helped Midgard deliver a safe and compliant residential development for future residents.
West End Gardens, Haddenham
A development of 54 new homes on a 2.5-acre site in Haddenham, where GA Interiors delivered partitions, ceilings, insulation and render for LIFE Build.

Project overview
West End Gardens is a development of 54 new homes in the village of Haddenham, set within a landscaped 2.5-acre site with spacious gardens and direct access to country lanes and footpaths. The scheme was developed in partnership with Haddenham Community Land Trust (CLT), delivering 19 community-owned, affordable homes for local residents.
The homes combine the character of the village with energy-efficient construction and modern technology in each home. GA Interiors worked on the project for main contractor LIFE Build.
Our scope
GA Interiors supplied and installed:
- Internal partitions
- Plasterboard ceilings
- Insulation, improving acoustic and thermal performance
- Render, giving the homes a durable, high-quality finish that suits the countryside setting
Challenges and solutions
The project was built during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the restrictions this brought to site working, construction kept a good pace, with completion programmed for early 2023.
